Dietary causes are, of course, those things that you eat or drink that contribute to acid reflux. Spicy foods, acidic foods, fatty foods, caffeine, carbonated drinks, citrus drinks are some.
Lifestyle causes are things you do habitually that can lead to acid reflux. Being overweight, smoking, stuffing yourself, wearing tight clothes are some lifestyle causes of reflux.
Medical causes refers to medicines that you take or medical conditions. Muscle relaxers, pain relievers, steroids, high blood pressure meds are some medicines in this category. Hiatal hernia and pregnancy are both medical conditions that create or aggravate acid reflux.
